International Tequila Day - Cocktail recipes

Today, on World Tequila Day, we celebrate with a brand new Cocktail Pack - Winter in Mexico!

The soft, spicy cooked agave notes of Pueblo Viejo Reposado and rich, aromatic Giffard Cinnamon Syrup, and juicy Giffard Pear Syrup provide the perfect backdrop for cocktails in the winter sun, or while hiding away from the rain.

Winter in Mexico Horchata

You’ll need:

1.To a tall glass, add:
  • 40mL (2TBSP) Pueblo Viejo Reposado Tequila
  • 20mL (1TBSP) Giffard Pear Syrup
  • 20mL (1TBSP) Giffard Cinnamon Syrup
2. Fill your glass to the top with ice
3. Top your glass off with rice milk and give it a little stir
Horchata is a classic, spiced, milky drink served in Mexico. It's absolutely delightful, but home recipes can be very involved. Ours is simple and delicious, using the spicy agave notes of tequila and cinnamon syrup to provide the kick.
On a really cold day, try heating the rice milk gently before serving!

Winter in Mexico Spritz

You’ll need:

1.To a tall glass, add:
  • 40mL (2TBSP) Pueblo Viejo Reposado Tequila
  • 15mL (3tsp) Giffard Pear Syrup
  • 10mL (2tsp) Giffard Cinnamon Syrup
  • 25mL (1TBSP, 1tsp) lime juice
2. Fill your glass to the top with ice
3. Top your glass off with soda water and give it a little stir

For those of us lucky enough to live where it's warm during winter, there's nothing better than a spiced spritz! Wintery spiced pear is brightened with a splash of soda water for this poolside treat.

Winter in Mexico Margarita

You’ll need:

1.To your shaker, add:
  • 60mL (3TBSP) Pueblo Viejo Reposado Tequila
  • 15mL (3tsp) Giffard Pear Syrup
  • 10mL (2tsp) Giffard Cinnamon Syrup
  • 30mL (1.5TBSP) lime juice
2. Fill your shaker with ice, seal, and shake hard for 10-15 seconds, or until drink is well chilled
3. Crack the seal and strain into a cocktail coupe

No tequila recipe book is complete without a margarita. Our winter-spiced take works just as well hiding from the rain as it does enjoying the morning sun.
